Agree on a membership fee — everyone proposes, one number
Too high and people leave; too low and the club can't pay the hall. Each member enters the fee they think is right — a single number or a range — privately, and the proposals reveal at once with the middle value marked. Where the ranges overlap you have a fee the room agrees on; where they don't, you can see the gap and run another round.
